Dip into Pool!

Lee Worth from the Sedgley and Gornal Pool League (click here) has been in touch to tell us about this thriving local competition and the talent it has produced.

The league has been in existence for around twenty years, and for thirteen of them Lee has played for a catalogue of famous Gornal boozers, starting at the Spriggers (Ellowes) Arms, moving on to the Waggon & Horses, then the Straits House, Old Bulls Head, Green Dragon, The Lakes and now back to the Straits.

A product of this league is current world number one Mick Hill. The likeable and entertaining 21 year old, who played for the Straits as well as the Horse and Jockey in Sedgley, won back to back European professional championships in 1999 and 2000 and was in the England world championship winning team. His goal is to win the Embassy World title - surely only a matter of time.

If you fancy a game of competitive local pool - with the small but undeniable chance of world stardom thrown in! - why not contact Lee on 07941 289147 or email him.
