A name to watch out for!
Gornal junior athlete Laura Bache was featured prominently on the Sports pages of the Dudley News this weeek.
Laura, aged 14, attends Dormston School and has set her sights firmly on making the British team for the 2008 Olympics in
China.
Laura was Tipton Harriers' star runner at U13 but has now stepped up to the U15 stage and is competing well already.
This season she has set personal bests at both 800m and 1500m and took part in the English Schools Championship.
She also appeared in the 'Rising Stars' section of Athletes Weekly. Her name already occupies two Google search pages, but
Laura is determined that in just over five years time she will be found on the internet under 'Olympic Champion Beijing'.
Harrier's coach Steve Walton pays tribute to mum Sharon and the rest of Laura's hugely supportive family, and feels that
she has the right talent and character to achieve her dream.
"She possesses the enthusiasm and passion for her sport which are second to none" he told the News.
Yampy wishes Laura every success and are sure that we will be highlighting her progress towards stardom many times in the
years to come.
