Your Local Nature Reserve Needs You!

Cotwall End Valley
photo Anna Gorski, Wildspace Officer at Dudley Council Urban Environment Directorate, is urging us to get involved with looking after Cotwall End Valley.

Anna's role was established by Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council through a grant of more than £76,000 from English Nature's 'Wildspace' scheme. Formerly the Warden at Leasowes Park in Halesowen, she took up her responsibilities for Cotwall End in April 2002, and also looks after Bumble Hole and the proposed reserve at Barrow Hill.

In addition to improving access and habitat management, Anna's role is to promote community involvement by undertaking educational work with schools, organising guided walks and producing interpretation materials.

You could become a nature conservation volunteer, start a 'Friends of the Valley' group, or even help to develop a future Management Committee

For further information, Anna's telephone number is 01384 815718, or email ann.m.gorski@dudley.gov.uk. Alternatively write to her at Claughton House, Blowers Green Road, Dudley DY2 8UZ.

Next: Just do something!..
