Surfing Lessons at the Library Alright, we know that you lot are already an educated and discerning bunch when it comes to negotiating your way round cyberspace - you are going Yampy, after all! But if, like us, you have family and friends who are more sceptical when it comes to embracing the internet, yet you just know that they would be hooked if they would only take that first tentative step (my mum's a good example!), why not send them along to Gornal Library on a Tuesday morning? The library is following up a recent successful 'Silver Surfers' day by offering free and informal internet taster sessions, to web newcomers of all ages. The facilities there are excellent (flat screen monitors, very posh) and staff are friendly and helpful - although a little busy at times, so to be absolutely sure of a place you may wish to call first on 01384 812755. Coffee is available, and as if any further persuasion was required, we hear that www.yampy.co.uk gets the odd mention during the proceedings.
