Sedgley ATC Update
On Tuesday 14th October, at the SQuadron HQ in Roford Court UpperGornal, Sedgley ATC was open for all who wanted to see what the Air Cadets do, At least 50 visitors that attended during the evening, including . the new Wing Commander of Staffordshire Wing, Colin Cope. The cadets did their normal activities to demonstrate to the visitors what goes on at the Squadron as well as a demonstration of drill and the RAF Squadron's Regiment flight. Wing Cdr. Cope was said to be very impressed. The Civilian Committee provided a BBQ with more than enough food for al there. Race Night Organised for the local community by the Squadron, this was a race night held at "The Quarry" in the Upper Gornal Voluntary Community premises, on the evening of Saturday 18th October. It was well patronised, and a great time was had by all - with many people winning great prizes, but mainly having a grand entertaining time. There was a delicious buffet provided and prepared as usual by the ladies of the Squadron's Civilian Committee. Both the above events were sponsored by DOSTI with a lot of work put in by Mr Onkar Pawar who is a "local lad" and very supportive of the local community. |
