RAF Presentation Evening
On Monday 22nd September 2003, members of the
2132 Sedgley ATC Squadron
attended an evening presentation at the Copthorne Hotel at the Merry Hill Centre in Brierley Hill,
about the role of the RAF both in the UK
and the World.
This presentation was very well attended with almost a capacity audience from all our local communities.
The Mayor and deputy Mayor of Dudley were present as well as our local councillor Anne Millward.
Seven ATC cadets, their Commanding Officer, and Dr. Lucy Kanas
(the chairman of the Civilian Committee) were also among the audience.
After the presentation there were was an opportunity to ask questions, and this was followed
by an informal chance to meet and talk not only to the officers but also the NCO's and airmen & women.
who, according to ATC CO Ted Kanas, "exuded a pride and enthusiasm in their chosen profession that
was a joy to behold and listen to".
The invitation to attend was given to Sedgley Squadron by the Squadron's Honorary President,
Mr Ross Cranston - MP for Dudley North. Sedgley Squadron's cadets were ever mindful
as always of representing their Premier Squadron and the ATC as a whole were very keen to take part.
These cadets are very keen and a lot of them feel that eventually will be joining the RAF as a career.
