Public Meeting Called Concerning Danger Road

Gornal residents concerned about the volume and speed of traffic travelling down Jews Lane and on towards the village centre are urged to attend a public meeting on Wednesday 16th October, 6.30pm at Robert St. Primary School.

The meeting has been called by Stuart and Beverley Taylor. Last month a car came hurtling over their garden and mercifully stopped just yards away from a window where their 9 day old baby Lauren was sleeping.

They have been joined by other residents in calling for traffic calming measures, many of whom have their own stories to tell about car accidents or near misses. Stuart and Beverley have invited our councillors and MP, as well as neighbours, friends, and other parents.

At the recent North Dudley Extraordinary Meeting ex-Councillor Jeff Jewkes raised the issue of traffic down this stretch of road, with particular reference to the effect a possible future dual carriageway junction at Gornal Wood might have on vehicle movements past Robert Street and Redhall Road schools.

Yampy congratulates Stuart and Beverley for pursuing this matter and hopes that as many people as possible turn out next Wednesday to show their concern and support.
