Not everyone wants to go Yampy.. When news is a bit thin on the ground in Gornal the Yampy team don't just sit around waiting for something to happen. So when a couple of weeks ago, during one of our sweeps through Gornal library, we noticed a programme of events for Dudley Ramblers (who hold some of their meetings at The Fiddlers Arms in the village), we thought that we would do our bit and give them some free publicity. The only problem was, the event listing was rather long to re-key, so we emailed them to ask if they had the details available to send us by email. A couple of days ago we received their reply. A rather embarassed spokesperson informed us that he had discussed it with their Publicity Officer, and she had decided that she does not want the Dudley Ramblers current programme posted on the Yampy site! Bit of a surprise that! We had wrongly assumed that someone in charge of publicity would be interested in getting some free, er, publicity. Sometimes you wonder if it's all worth the effort..
