Delays expected on the Southern Bypass Dudley Council is warning motorists to expect some delays, as planned maintenance work is carried out at "various locations" along the Dudley Southern By-Pass (sorry we can't be any more specific, it's all we're given by the Council's press release). The works will start on Monday 20th October 2003 for a period of approximately one week and be restricted to off-peak hours, between 9:30am and 4pm. The renovation will involve planing off areas of existing surfacing and replacing with new material (well, it's such an old road, isn't it??). The Council says "these works need to be carried out before colder and more unsettled weather arrives". Traffic will be restricted to a single lane around the works and some delays may be experienced.
