Citizens Advice Bureau Earlier this year we reported that Gornal has its own Citizens Advice Bureau service at Robert Street School (click here for details). We have now been contacted by Sharon Tilt who informs us that Citizens Advice Bureaux have set up an advice session at Upper Gornal Pensioners Club (Kent Street, almost opposite Labour Club) on alternate Thursdays from 9.30 a.m to 11.30 a.m. Advice and assistance on a wide range of issues can be sought including employment, benefits, relationship and housing issues. We can assist with filling in forms and drafting letters, and also provide benefit checks. This in an open door session, and no appointment is necessary. Sharon tells us "we also provide group talks to interested parties on specific issues such as tax credits, statutory employment law etc. Any interested parties should contact me on 01384 816202".
