update 24/9/03 - can you help?
Further to our article below, a Yampy reader has recently contacted us to ask for further information about the
team pictured, as his Dad Robin Carter was a member of the side.

This photo appeared in the Dudley Herald dated September 25th 1976, but it's clear that the influence of the
Sex Pistols on Gornal chaps' hairstyles had yet to make its presence felt.
The 100% record referred to in the caption had stretched for just three matches, and the Siden House lads were
just behind Ashtree Rovers in the table, who had played five games but drawn one of them. Other teams in the
Premier League included the Bulls Head propping up the table, while Division One featured the
Miners Arms, Green Dragon, and Bush Athletic - we're unsure whether all of these were from the Gornal pubs
of the same name. The White Chimneys is briefly mentioned as 'doing well' in an accompanying article.
Were you in this Crooked House line up, or one of the other teams mentioned? Or perhaps you've noticed Dad in there
and are now wondering how he's got the nerve to tell you to get your hair cut? Please get in touch with us
at admin@yampy.co.uk
The photo was kindly sent to us by
Mike Love, along with other interesting Glynne Arms items that we will
be publishing shortly.
