The Best of British?
If you like Mr. Bean, then you will love Rowan Atkinson's latest offering, Johnny English.
He stars as MI7's new superagent, taking on the role after inadvertently causing the deaths of all the other top secret
agents in the country. This movie is a cross between Mr. Bean and James Bond, with a little bit of Inspector Clouseau
thrown in for good measure.
You may remember Johnny English and his faithful sidekick Bough, from the Barclaycard adverts on TV.
In the movie Bough is played convincingly by Ben Miller, and one of his main jobs is to try to stop Johnny English
from getting into any trouble, a difficult job for anyone.
Luckily, Natalie Imbruglia is on hand to offer help where she can!
Atkinson takes on a pretentious and clumsy manner as he attempts to save Britain from the malicious Frenchman,
Pascal Sauvage (John Malkovich). Firstly, Sauvage steals the Crown Jewels from under the nose of Johnny English
and makes plans to become King then turn England into one enormous prison.
Our hero accidentally stumbles upon the truth but no-one believes him and some very funny scenes ensue.
Look out for the one where English gets his drugs mixed up and accidentally gives himself a shot of a muscle relaxant
causing him to talk gibberish. The funeral scene is also very amusing, it is cringe comedy at its best.
Johnny English is a must for all ages - but I don't think it will give Pierce Brosnan any sleepless nights!
