Pastoral Carrey
Do you want to know the true meaning of happiness? Bruce Nolan will tell you, he has just found out.
In the new release, ‘Bruce Almighty’, Bruce, played by Jim Carrey is unhappy with his lot and thinks he knows what
he needs to make him happy.
He is already a successful TV reporter with a loving girlfriend but wants more from life.
However, God, played by Morgan Freeman, is fed up with his constant complaining and steps in to teach him a lesson
he won’t forget.
He gives Bruce the chance to be God for one week.. so what’s the first thing he does?
Well, he gives his girlfriend, played by Jennifer Aniston, bigger boobs of course - and teaches his dog to use the toilet!
Of course his selfishness has catastrophic consequences and he has to put right all his wrongs.
Watch out for a few quirky little special effects; for instance, when he is given two extra fingers,
and when he rubs out the clouds around the moon.
Also look out for the scene where he causes his rival to deliver a news report in gibberish, it is very funny.
In true Jim Carrey style there are some great comic moments - it is a funny, feel-good movie.
However, there would have been more laughs had the funniest bits of the film not been shown beforehand
in the promotional stage.
So, if you’re feeling a bit depressed, if you’ve had a row with your other half, or if you didn’t get that promotion,
go and see Bruce Almighty - you’ll realise there’s more to life!
